Lamson Institute scientists have created a drug that will treat the symptoms of enlarged prostate and urinary tract infections. The drug, known as Vardenafil, will be available in the U. S. by September 30.
The drug is currently in development as an alternative to Viagra.
The drug, called Levitra, is a pill that may be taken daily. It works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate.
Levitra works by increasing the amount of nitric oxide in the body. This increases the flow of blood into the body, leading to better urination. It does not have the same side effects as Viagra, but it is more effective.
The drug was developed at the University of Missouri’s Department of Urology, and was created by researchers from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
“It's a very interesting drug. We found that it works for people with enlarged prostate and urinary tract infections,” Dr. David A. Kostas, lead author of the study, told.
“It has also been used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH,” he said. “It can work well for people who have both.”

A study published in the journal The Journal of the American Urology found that men who took Levitra were less likely to develop urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, or urinary tract infections.
Levitra, which is sold by Eli Lilly & Co., was developed by researchers at University of Chicago researchers in the 1970s.
Levitra was initially tested for its potential role in treating a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. This condition involves enlargement of the prostate gland.
Researchers believe that Levitra could help the condition.
“If you are taking nitroglycerin for angina (a type of chest pain), you can lower the nitrate dose you take," said Kostas. "You can have a lower risk of having chest pain if you take it every day. It is very safe."
Levitra was originally developed as an alternative to Viagra but was later found to be effective in treating the condition. The drug was developed at the University of Missouri's Department of Urology, and was created by the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine researchers.
“Levitra was developed by the University of Missouri's urologist," said Kostas. “This drug has been tested on more than 100,000 patients, and the drug's effectiveness has been tested in over 500,000 men with prostate enlargement and urinary tract infections. The results have been positive. We are currently investigating the potential use of this drug in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.”
Levitra, which was launched in the U. in February, will be available in the U.
A separate study published in the journal is expected to include the development of the drug.
“We believe that the results of this study will support the development of this drug,” said Kostas. “The study has shown that Levitra is effective for treating urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, and prostate and bladder infections.”
Levitra is available in both the U. and Canada by prescription.
Levitra has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and has been approved for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
